If there is a representative model among all the hybrids, that's the Toyota Prius . It was the first large production model that used a gasoline engine associated with an electric drive , thus reducing pollutant emissions and fuel consumption. This model arrived in the Spanish market in 2000 .

Since then, Toyota has marketed in Spain more than 165,000 hybrid vehicles , exceeding 200,000 if we add the sales of its sister brand Lexus. Currently, Toyota's hybrid range is very extensive , and the vast majority of its sales are focused on this propulsion technology. However, the Toyota Prius has reduced its sales in this last generation, because it has remained practically like a vehicle of "image".

Despite this, the Prius does not stop evolving.
