Bentley presents the convertible version of its Bentley Continental GTC
Luxury, power, English design ... This is how Bentley has been from its beginnings, and if something like its customers, all of them wealthy, is to show off its model produced by the British firm in Crewe. Well, now those who spend the summer in Marbella, or those who walk through the English countryside, can do it feeling the wind on their faces ... This is the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible .
Although convertible sounds like a slower and heavier model , the new Continental GT only meets the second adjective, because the cabrio variant is only 0.1 seconds slower accelerating from stationary to 100 km/h, specifically takes 3.7 seconds, not bad for a beast of 2,414 kilograms.
As for the design of the new offshoot of the British firm , the front lines remain intact with respect to the version of rigid roof, while the rear has some adjustments typical of this type of variants, such as a small spoiler that will help the aerodynamics, in addition to redesigned rear pilots.
Inside includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and both heated seats and steering wheel. Elements that were already part of the standard version and that has inherited this convertible variant. Without doubt, the heated elements, which are also located at the height of the neck and the armrest of the center console, will help in those gray days in which one needs to remove the hood.
Regarding the chassis, the torsion has been improved by 5% and reduced by 20% % its weight, which has achieved an increase of only 200 kilograms compared to the coupe version. To move this beast of almost two and a half tons, Bentley has used the 6-liter 612-horsepower W12 engine mounted on the GT Coupe, although a less powerful version will come, which will mount a V8 , next year.
